The objects are formed using a number of materials from durable plastic to titanium and at different resolutions. depending on the device used.

Printing on the Z Axis

Everyone is familiar with printing in 2 dimensions on paper but now Citrus Digital is able to offer devices that print on the Z axis creating the 3rd dimension.

There are several different technologies available, a typical device uses multi-pass construction to build the object by printing a UV sensitive polymer plastic on a platform, and then passing Ulraviolet light over the plastic to cause it to harden in just the area where the object is to be formed. This process is continued until the entire object is created.

By using high resoulution UV light sources combined with wax support structures it is now possible to print highly complex and intracate 3d components. The accuracy is measured in microns and the wax simply fills the gaps between small detail areas of the object.
