Windows Driver Installs:
The printer driver can communicate with the device in order to populate the correct accessories, cassettes etc. In order to do this in needs to install the Canon Driver Assist Service. Once this service has started, the get device status button in the driver will read the properties of the printer.
If the "get device status " button fails check that the service is running:
Goto Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services | and check that the service is installed, if so restart the service and then retry the Get Device Status button. If the service is not installed, reinstall from the driver disk.
